I thought this up at church this morning while the sermon droned on!! haha
1. Set My Soul Afire
2. Love Lifted Me
3. Through many dangers
4. The Lily Of The Valley
5. Sometimes It Causes Me To Tremble
6. Sunshine In My Soul
Can you write an amusing paragraph or 2 or more that includes these lyrics from sacred songs?
I am Spartacus. I have lived through many dangers. I have traversed the dreaded self service lane at the grocery, where peasants mysteriously forget how to use their ATM cards, and where those who otherwise toil competently each day are rendered incapable of performing the simple task of scanning groceries.
Sometimes it causes me to tremble, but I have solved the ancient inexplicable enigma of scented or unscented; light days, regular, or super; cardboard or plastic applicator; and deciphered the seemingly identical labels of Kotex and Platex, to select the correct hygienic product for my daughter. For I am Spartacus.
Although it set my soul afire, and I was tempted to smite those who would be my enemies, I have conquered the impenetrable menu of telephonic voices to speak to a living person when my cable broadband service is inexplicably interrupted. For I am Spartacus.
In order to accomplish these extraordinary feats, I have been inspired by the sunshine in my soul, the fair Varinia. When I needed phenomenal strength to accomplish my great deeds, my Lily of the Valley set my soul afire, so that I could defeat those who would thwart my efforts. Love lifted me to realize a strength that no other man possesses.
For I am Spartacus!
Reply:You have always called me your Lili(y) of the Valley, and we have been together for so long! We have walked together Through Many Dangers, and Sometimes it Causes Me to Tremble to remember them. Just looking at you that day Set My Soul Afire (and other parts of me as well....), and you love Lifted Me to a higher state of mind. Really, my dear, you are the Sunshine in My Soul, and I have been so blessed to know you!
Reply:It never seized to amuse Lily to hear people still refer to her as (4)The Lily of the Valley. It always made her feel like one of the girls in %26#039;The little house in the prairie%26#039;.
As she walked towards the Main Street, to pick up some groceries, she marveled at the feeling of serenity this town always brought on her.
The camaraderie, the loyalty, the kindness and the unwavering compassion she always found in this little town where she grew up gave her a sense of contentment she could never experience in the big city, where she normally lived.
She did love the fast pace of the city most of the time, and (3)through many dangers she had encountered, she was able to develop her strong , independent self.
Yet, she thought to herself,%26quot;Everytime I visit my family and friends in this adorable little town, I feel their loving faces brighten me like the (6)Sunshine in my soul. Having to face the fact that in a few years time, this town will be industrialized with new resorts and skyscrapers being built with shiny new cars roaming the mainstreet, (5)sometimes causes me to tremble. For, whatever curve life ever threw in my way, coming home and facing these unpretentious people would always have a healing effect on me. Their (2)love lifted me and my spirits and never failed to give me the strength to go into the business world in the city and take up the projects that I have always been so passionate about. As much as I love this little quiet town to pieces, those passions were what always (1)set my soul afire, and propelled me to pursue my goals and ambitions%26quot;.
As she reached the front of the local grocery store, she smiled at her own thoughts and pondered, %26quot; I guess all you need in life is some form of balance. Some people write to ease their minds and to give an outlet to their creative sides, some play the guitar, some take up a sport, some go hiking in the mountains, some choose to explore the world. For me, the balance between the goals I have been pursuing in the city and having a peace of mind is, once in awhile coming home to this lovely, still quiet and unspoiled little town and watching the serenity on the faces of the people who live here. It simply gives meaning to everything and puts the madness of the city in perspective.
She heard the store owner%26#039;s wife cheerily calling out, %26quot;Hello there, Lilly! Our Lily of the Valley has come. Here, honey, have a glass of lemonade I just made this morning while you do your shopping in the store. You must have worked up a thirst walking all the way here from your mama%26#039;s house%26quot;.
As she gratefully took the glass of lemonade, she said out loud, %26quot;God, I love this town%26quot;.
THE END
Reply:Yes, I could.
